Childrens Ministry

Children's ministry brings the truth of the gospel to kids where they are, children go home with questions, stories, and lessons they learned. An effective children's ministry sparks conversations at home, and this challenges and encourages the whole family. The questions, memories, and stories of children from camps often challenge adults to know their faith so well that they can explain it to their children. If we cannot explain an essential belief about the Christian faith to a seven year old, we don’t know it well enough. And articulating the Bible to our kids, even if we stumble and learn as we go, helps the truth get into our own souls more.

Youth Ministry

Youth ministry is vital to helping teens integrate into the larger, inter-generational community of the church.

Youth ministry resists the status quo, helping the church stay relevant.

Youth ministry focuses on inviting those who are not already part of the church into the deeper narrative of God’s plan.

Youth ministry reminds the church that teens are not marginalized members of the body, but co-creators and conspirators in the divine work of the church.

Youth ministry helps the church focus on the way of Jesus, which goes beyond tradition, dogma, and work.

Women's Ministry

Like most forms of ministry, women's ministry is Jesus-centred. It's all about helping other women to come to Christ and grow in Christ. It's about encouraging people to understand the gospel, respond to the gospel and apply the gospel to every aspect of life. And that happens when women engage with God through his Word and prayer, in the community of the local church. Beyond that - there are many forms that women's ministry can take!

Men's Ministry

LELCSA has a vision for a healthy men's ministry that will create a framework of vital relationships among men, that will intentionally reconcile men to God and to each other. Through these relationships, men will be able to minister to the needs of the body of Christ and the community, under the authority and direction of the Word of God and the leaders of the local church. A vibrant and vital ministry to men will be founded on biblical truth and prayer, inspired by Christ-centered worship, and guided by a well-defined vision and clear goals. In the process, the men in our congregations will be equipped with the resources and training to become effective, godly leaders in their homes, the church, and the community and will proactively apply their spiritual gifts to influence the world (both locally and abroad) for Jesus Christ.

Confirmation Class

Confirmation, sometimes called Affirmation of Baptism (Tiisetso), is the time when young people declare for themselves that they will live out the promises made for them by their parents and sponsors in their baptism (that is, of course, assuming that they were baptised as an infant). The years spent in confirmation classes are intended to continue, more intentionally, the exploration of faith, faith and life, and faith and the church so that students can make that affirmation of baptism statement of faith in the hope and trust that God will continue to lead and guide them in all the aspects of their lives now and in the future.
