Welcome to LELCSA Diaconia Ministry

Diakonia is a term derived from Greek, used in the Bible, New Testament, with different meanings. Sometimes, refers to the specific kind to help any people in need. At other times, it means to serve the tables, and still others, refers to the distribution of financial resources.

Mighty Fortress Congregation needs to feed the homeless people in the Pretoria CBD. To help support this initiative, humbly donate non-perishable food items by contacting Mrs. Pheladi Mukheli.

According to Matthew 5:7, mercy is an investment: “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.” The initial investment was given to us when we were saved from the eternal consequences of our sin. Let’s not bury what we have been given but rather seek opportunities to invest.

One of the most fundamental exercises in mercy is feeding the poor. Running a soup kitchen is a direct approach to connect us with those who physically hunger and give us the opportunity to address their spiritual hunger as well.

Bophelong Congregation in Lotus Gardens, collects sanitary packs on an ongoing basis. All collected packs are distributed through a local clinic.

The public is invited to donate packs and make a difference Menstrual health is not just a women’s issue. Globally, 2.3 billion people live without basic sanitation services and in developing countries, only 27% of people have adequate handwashing facilities at home, according to UNICEF. Not being able to use these facilities makes it harder for women and young girls to manage their periods safely and with dignity. Girls with special needs and disabilities disproportionately do not have access to the facilities and resources they need for proper menstrual hygiene. Living in conflict-affected areas, or in the aftermath of natural disasters, also makes it more difficult for women and girls to manage their periods.

Tsholanang Congregation based in Hammanskraal is collecting clothes and shoes for the needy. We are inviting everyone to be part of the project and extend a helping hand.

Even though you don’t want your old clothes anymore, it’s almost guaranteed that someone else will. There are many people in need of usable clothing. There are disaster victims, underprivileged people, and children in need of clothing, and your donations can help. When you throw away your clothes, they have no chance of reaching people who need them the most.
